The Soque River Watershed Association (SRWA) is inviting outdoor enthusiasts to explore one of North Georgia's scenic waterfall trails during a guided hike scheduled for Saturday, November 7.

The group will hike the two-mile round-trip Hemlock Falls Trail near Lake Burton in Rabun County, traveling through a wooded valley known for its waterfalls and natural beauty.

Katie and Gavin Jones, owners of Haggard Hiker Outdoors in Cleveland, will lead the excursion in partnership with SRWA.

The hike is considered relatively moderate and offers participants an opportunity to experience the natural landscape of the North Georgia mountains.

Participants are asked to meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hemlock Falls trailhead, located across the road from Moccasin Creek State Park.

The trailhead is accessible by a gravel road. Visitors should watch for signs identifying the National Forest Hemlock Falls Trailhead and Camp Evergreen, which will direct them to the parking area where the group will gather.

Organizers recommend wearing comfortable hiking shoes, dressing appropriately for the weather, and bringing plenty of drinking water.

The outing is part of SRWA's efforts to encourage outdoor recreation and appreciation of Northeast Georgia's natural resources.
