Back Yard Barn Bash Returns to Clarkesville November 7 with Free Family Festival

Families across Northeast Georgia are invited to enjoy an afternoon of fall festivities while supporting local education programs when the Back Yard Barn Bash returns to Clarkesville on Saturday, November 7.
The community festival and fundraiser will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. at Woodland Farms, located at 2607 Rock Ford Creek Road in Clarkesville.
Admission is free, and the event is open to everyone, regardless of whether their children attend either of the two participating schools.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Kandy Kane Learning Center (KKLC) and Lighthouse Christian Cooperative Learning (LCCL), helping support classrooms, students, and educational programs.
Organizers have planned a variety of family-friendly activities, including hayrides, fishing at the pond, pumpkin bowling, fall crafts, pumpkin tic-tac-toe, cornhole, a scarecrow bean bag toss, and other outdoor games.
Families can also enjoy s'mores, popcorn, a temporary tattoo station, and shopping with local vendors.
Most activities are included with free admission, although contest entries, raffle tickets, vendor purchases, and silent auction bids will have separate costs.
Chili Cook-Off and Pumpkin Decorating Contest
One of the afternoon's featured attractions will be a chili cook-off, giving local cooks an opportunity to compete for prizes and bragging rights.
Participants can enter their favorite chili recipes for a $15 entry fee. Contestants are asked to bring their chili prepared and ready to serve in a crockpot.
Guests will have an opportunity to sample the entries and vote for their favorites using a pebble voting system. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place.
A pumpkin decorating contest will also give children an opportunity to show off their creativity. Families can register their children and bring decorated pumpkins to the event, where attendees will vote for their favorites.
The pumpkin contest entry fee is $5 per pumpkin.
Raffles, Silent Auction and Local Vendors
The fundraiser will also feature a 50/50 raffle, prize raffles, and a silent auction offering donated items and gift baskets.
Raffle tickets will cost $5 each or five for $20. The 50/50 raffle winner will receive half of the proceeds collected through that drawing.
Prize raffle winners do not have to be present to win and may pick up their prizes at Kandy Kane Learning Center.
Local vendors will also be on hand offering handmade items, gifts, and other merchandise. Businesses interested in participating can reserve a vendor space for $25, although availability is limited.
Special Drawing for Enrolled Students
Children currently enrolled at Kandy Kane Learning Center or Lighthouse Christian Cooperative Learning who attend the Barn Bash will receive an entry into a special gift drawing.
Families of enrolled students should check in at the registration table when they arrive to ensure their children are entered.
Supporting Local Education
Kandy Kane Learning Center is a locally operated childcare and early education center serving children from infancy through school age in Clarkesville.
Lighthouse Christian Cooperative Learning is a nonprofit Christian hybrid homeschool program serving students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The program combines classroom instruction with parent involvement and a Christ-centered approach to education.
Organizers hope the Back Yard Barn Bash will provide an opportunity for families to spend time together while generating financial support for both organizations.
Although admission is free, families are encouraged to register in advance to help organizers prepare for attendance. Registration will also be available at the event.
