Last week, the Habersham County Commission recognized its own Public Information Officer, Ashlyn Brady, who was named the 2025 Young Professional of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce.
During a regular meeting Monday, March 16, Brady was recognized for her contributions to local government communications and the business community.
The award honors emerging leaders who demonstrate professional excellence while making a meaningful impact in their communities.
In her role, Brady serves as a liaison between Habersham County government, the media and the public to ensure residents receive clear and timely information about county services, initiatives and events. County officials say her position becomes particularly critical during severe weather and emergency situations when accurate and rapid communication is essential.
Commissioners also said Brady has played a significant role in the advancement of transparency and customer service efforts within the Habersham County Commission Office. That work includes improvements to the county’s website for information to be more accessible and easier for residents to understand.
In addition to her communications duties, Brady has supported a range of county initiatives and events, including Purple Heart Day, the Employee Appreciation Luncheon, the Share the Harvest food drive, SPLOST outreach efforts and the Meet Your Government event.
Colleagues describe Brady as a collaborative and resourceful team member, noting her willingness to assist across departments. She also has provided training to staff on design tools such as Canva to help enhance internal projects and presentations.
County leaders praised Brady’s professionalism and dedication, calling her an asset to the organization and the community she serves.
“Ashlyn's dedication, professionalism and positive spirit make her a tremendous asset to Habersham County,” Chairman Bruce Harkness said. “We are very proud to see her recognized for the impact she continues to make in our community."
