The music begins, the lights come up, and a dancer takes the stage. But at Clarkesville School of Dance, the journey is about much more than learning steps. It is about confidence, creativity, friendships, and discovering the best version of yourself.

Registration is now open for the 2026-2027 dance year at Clarkesville School of Dance, and students of all ages are invited to be part of a studio where passion and purpose come together.

Owned by Francie Keene, a former Broadway performer and accomplished artist, Clarkesville School of Dance has become a place where dancers are encouraged, challenged, and celebrated. The school’s growing popularity — including waiting lists for some classes — is a reflection of the dedication and talent of its instructors and the genuine love they have for their students.

From young dancers beginning their very first steps to adults rediscovering a passion they may have set aside years ago, Clarkesville School of Dance welcomes everyone. Classes begin for children as young as 3 years old (for potty-friendly students) and continue through every stage of life — including dancers who are 100 years old and beyond.

While youth classes remain a cornerstone of the school, adult classes have become increasingly popular, giving men and women the opportunity to experience the joy, movement, and creativity that dance brings.

Keene encourages anyone who has ever dreamed of dancing not to let age or time away from the studio stand in the way.

“I want to encourage everyone to remember that it’s never too late to start dancing — or to come back to dance after taking time away,” Keene said. “If you’ve ever thought about giving it a try, we’d love to invite you to join us for a free trial class.”

At Clarkesville School of Dance, instructors do more than teach technique. They help students build confidence, overcome challenges, and discover their own unique abilities. Whether a dancer dreams of performing on stage, wants to improve skills, or simply wants to experience the happiness that comes from movement, the goal remains the same: helping each student find their best self.

The school welcomes both female and male dancers and believes that dance is for anyone willing to take that first step.

With talented instructors, a supportive environment, and a commitment to helping every dancer grow, Clarkesville School of Dance continues to inspire the community — one step, one leap, and one dream at a time.

Beyond the studio, Clarkesville School of Dance continues to inspire and connect with the community through its podcast, Six Souls in Sync. Created by members of the dance community, the podcast offers conversations about dance, creativity, teaching, and the experiences that shape both instructors and performers.

Through meaningful discussions and personal stories, Six Souls in Sync gives listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the passion, dedication, and heart that go into the world of dance. It is another way Clarkesville School of Dance shares its mission of encouraging others, celebrating the arts, and reminding people that dance is about connection as much as it is movement.

Registration for the 2026-2027 season is now open. Those interested in exploring dance are encouraged to contact Clarkesville School of Dance and schedule a free trial class.

Meet Francie Keene: Bringing the Joy of Dance to Every Generation

Behind the success of Clarkesville School of Dance is a woman who has spent her life believing in the power of movement, creativity, and connection.

Francie Keene, owner and director of Clarkesville School of Dance, brings a wealth of experience, talent, and passion to every class. A former Broadway performer and accomplished artist, Keene understands the discipline required to pursue excellence — but she also understands something equally important: dance is about joy.

For Keene, the greatest reward is not simply watching students master a difficult step or prepare for a performance. It is seeing them grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and realize what they are capable of achieving.

“Dance has the ability to transform people,” Keene believes. “It builds confidence, teaches perseverance, and gives students a place where they can express themselves.”

That philosophy guides everything at Clarkesville School of Dance. Keene and her team of talented instructors are committed to creating an environment where every dancer feels valued — whether they are stepping into a studio for the first time or returning to something they loved years ago.

Her vision extends far beyond teaching technique. Keene wants every student — male and female, young and old — to discover the confidence that comes from trying something new, working hard, and finding the courage to perform.

While her professional journey has taken her to incredible places, including the Broadway stage, Keene’s greatest joy comes from investing in the next generation of dancers and welcoming people of all ages into the world of dance.

Her message is simple: it is never too late.

Whether a child is taking their first steps at age 3, a teenager pursuing advanced training, or an adult rediscovering a passion from years ago, Francie Keene and the Clarkesville School of Dance team are ready to welcome them.

Because at Clarkesville School of Dance, the goal is not only to create great dancers — it is to help people become more confident, more joyful, and more fully themselves.
