Habersham County Invites Community to ‘Meet Your Government’ Event

Habersham County residents will have an opportunity to put faces with the names and departments that serve their community during an upcoming Meet Your Government event.

The county will host the event on Tuesday, September 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Habersham County Aquatic Center.

Rather than a formal government meeting, the evening is designed to provide a relaxed and welcoming setting where residents can meet county representatives and employees, ask questions, and learn more about the departments and services that operate throughout Habersham County.

County officials say the event is also an opportunity to recognize the many employees who work behind the scenes each day to provide services to residents.

“Our citizens are the reason we’re here, and we want them to have the opportunity to connect with their local government,” county officials said in announcing the event.

Residents will be able to spend time talking one-on-one with the people who serve the county, learn more about how local government operates and discover some of the services available to them.

Light refreshments and snacks will be served, and door prizes will be given away throughout the evening.

The event is intended to strengthen connections between residents and their local government while giving citizens an informal opportunity to learn more about the people and programs serving Habersham County every day.
