By: Brian Wellmeier

A former municipal court clerk in Maysville has been arrested following an investigation into missing funds, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Agents with the GBI Office of Special Investigations have charged Jessica Daniels, 48, with computer trespassing, computer forgery and theft by taking.

The investigation began in February when the Maysville Police Department requested the GBI’s assistance after discovering money missing from the Maysville Municipal Court.

Authorities said the case remains active and ongoing. Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be turned over to the Piedmont Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the GBI Office of Special Investigations at 404-239-2106.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-597-TIPS (8477), online through the GBI website, or via the “See Something, Send Something” mobile app.
