Early voting has started across Georgia ahead of the upcoming election, giving residents the opportunity to cast their ballots before Election Day.
In Georgia, early voting—also called advanced voting—allows registered voters to vote in person prior to Election Day, helping reduce wait times and offering more flexibility for busy schedules. Early voting typically takes place on weekdays, with an additional two Saturdays.
For the 2026 primary election, early voting runs from April 27 through May 15, ahead of Election Day on May 19.

What Voters Should Know
During early voting, residents can vote at any designated early voting location within their county, rather than being restricted to a specific precinct.
Officials encourage voters to bring a valid photo ID and to consider voting early to avoid potential Election Day lines.
Why Early Voting Matters
Early voting provides a convenient way for residents to participate in elections while avoiding crowds and scheduling conflicts. It also helps election officials manage turnout more efficiently across multiple days.
