The Habersham County Board of Education will meet tonight, Monday, August 11, at 6 p.m., with technology purchases, personnel recommendations, employee leave policy, and recognition of outstanding service among the items on the agenda.

One of the significant business items before the board will be a request to approve the purchase of 500 new Chromebooks. The agenda does not specify the proposed cost of the purchase.

Board members will also consider personnel recommendations and take a final vote on Policy GARH – Employee Leaves and Absences, following its final reading.

The meeting will include two special recognitions sponsored by Peach State Federal Credit Union. The board will present the Extra Mile Award and the Service Above Self Award, recognizing individuals for their contributions and service.

Following public comment, board members will receive the district's financial report and hear the superintendent's report.

The consent agenda includes field trip requests and the 2026-2027 Local Board Training Plan, along with per diem approvals associated with the board's July 23 work session and July 27 regular meeting.

The board will also consider approval of the district's financial report as part of its regular business.

WCHM will continue to follow the Habersham County Board of Education and provide updates on decisions made during the meeting.
