U.S. News & World Report Ranks Piedmont University No. 3 Top Private College in Georgia

Piedmont University has been ranked the No. 3 private college in Georgia by U.S. News & World Report.

The ranking was released as part of U.S. News & World Report’s latest college rankings. Piedmont is included in the Regional Universities South category, which encompasses colleges and universities across 13 states and territories.

Regional universities offer a broad range of undergraduate programs along with some master’s programs and a limited number of doctoral programs.

Criser III said. “It is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and the entire university community in ensuring that our students – 40% of whom are first-generation – receive an education that prepares them for successful careers without compromising their financial futures.”

According to the university, the U.S. News rankings consider factors including student outcomes, academic resources and expert opinion. Graduation rates, first-year student retention and Pell Grant recipient graduation rates are among the factors considered.

Founded in 1897, Piedmont University is a private liberal arts institution offering programs in the arts and sciences, business, education and nursing.

The university reports a 12-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio. Its 390-acre residential campus is located in Demorest, with an additional campus in downtown Athens.
