Habersham County residents now have another important layer of protection thanks to the generosity of the Habersham Pickleball Club.
On February 11, the club hosted its 5th Annual “Dink Your Heart Out” tournament in recognition of National Heart Health Month. The yearly event blends friendly competition with a meaningful purpose — raising awareness about heart health while supporting community safety.
Proceeds from this year’s tournament registration fees were used to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), which will be installed at Diamond Memorial Field. The donation marks the fifth AED the Habersham Pickleball Club has provided to locations throughout Habersham County, reflecting the organization’s ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of local residents.
AEDs are critical life-saving devices designed to assist individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. When used quickly, they can significantly improve survival rates by restoring a normal heart rhythm before emergency responders arrive. By placing these devices in accessible public spaces, the club is helping ensure that both community members and visitors have immediate access to emergency resources when seconds matter most.
Habersham County officials expressed their appreciation for the continued generosity of the Habersham Pickleball Club and their dedication to making a lasting, positive impact throughout the community.
