Piedmont Theatre Opens Mainstage Season with ‘The Addams Family Musical’

Piedmont University Theatre will open its 2026-27 Mainstage Season with The Addams Family Musical, bringing the famously spooky family to the stage just in time for Halloween.
Performances are scheduled for Oct. 29-31 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. at the Swanson Center Mainstage Theater on Piedmont's Demorest campus.
The musical follows the familiar Addams Family characters as they encounter a problem even they may not be prepared for — Wednesday Addams has fallen in love.
Wednesday has grown up and fallen for Lucas Beineke, a seemingly “normal” young man from Ohio. When their two families meet for dinner, secrets and lies begin to surface, relationships are tested and the two very different families are forced to confront what they are willing to do for the people they love.
Director Bill Gabelhausen said the enduring appeal of the Addams Family spans generations.
“The Addams Family characters are iconic for both my generation, who grew up watching the television show, and the current generations who grew up with the films,” Gabelhausen said. “I am excited to bring these characters to life because they care so deeply about each other. It makes me feel like I am 7 years old again working with this text.”
Gabelhausen directs Piedmont's production, with retired music professor Wallace Hinson serving as music director. Piedmont senior Ava Kerpics is assistant director, and Parker Skillen is stage manager.
The cast includes Jacksyn Jarrard as Gomez Addams, Hallie Wilson as Morticia Addams, Betsavetl Hernandez as Wednesday Addams, BriAnna Rodriguez as Pugsley Addams, Steven Herring as Fester Addams, Delyna Fuller as Grandmama and Ian Dover as Lurch.
Liam Peeples plays Lucas Beineke, with Robert Wright as Mal Beineke and Nealy Webster as Alice Beineke.
The ensemble of Addams ancestors includes Willow Cannon, Solar Driver, Gaby La Rosa, Jenna Meinberg, Kate Morgan, Jana Nagel, Julia Sanders, Allan Soto, Ori Walters and Allana Wiggins.
Reserved seating is $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Piedmont University faculty, staff and students receive free admission.
Tickets may be purchased through Piedmont University's ticket page or by calling the box office at 706-778-8500, ext. 1355.
