Habersham 10U All-Stars Battle Until the Final Out

The Habersham County 10U All-Stars may have come up just short on the scoreboard Wednesday, June 24, but they left the field with their heads held high after an incredible back-and-forth battle against Tift County in state tournament action.

In a game filled with momentum swings, clutch hits, and plenty of excitement, Habersham fought until the very end before falling 11-10 in a heartbreaker.

The All-Stars came out swinging in the first inning, putting together a six-run frame to take an early lead. CJ Menius delivered a two-run single, Luke Fulmer added a two-run hit of his own, and Habersham capitalized on several opportunities to jump in front.

The offense kept rolling in the second inning when Lenox Armour blasted a double that extended the lead to 8-2, giving Habersham fans plenty to cheer about.

But Tift County answered with a big inning of its own, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the second to take a narrow 9-8 lead.

Rather than folding, the Habersham All-Stars responded the way they have all season—by fighting back.

In the fourth inning, Lenox Armour came through again with a triple that put Habersham back on top 10-9. The lead would be short-lived, however, as Tift County managed to score twice in the bottom half of the inning to regain the advantage.

Despite the setback, Habersham continued battling and never stopped competing, showcasing the determination and grit that earned them a spot among the state's best teams.

The game featured six hits for Habersham, including a standout performance from Lenox Armour, who delivered both a double and a triple while driving the offense at key moments. CJ Menius and Luke Fulmer also provided timely hits as the All-Stars put constant pressure on Tift County throughout the contest.

While the season's final outcome remains to be written, one thing is already certain: this group of young athletes has made Habersham County proud.

From winning the district championship to representing their community on the state stage, these players demonstrated teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship, and heart every step of the way.
