White County Fire Services responded Saturday afternoon, March 14, to a reported structure fire in the Fuller Drive area near Cleveland.
According to officials, crews were dispatched shortly after 12:00 p.m. after a caller reported a barn on fire behind Mossy Creek Baptist Church off Highway 254.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the barn fully engulfed in flames, with a nearby vehicle also burning and a brush fire beginning to spread into the surrounding area.
Firefighters quickly began suppression efforts while working to protect nearby structures. An adjacent barn, a residence, and a tractor were located close to the fire, prompting crews to prioritize exposure protection as they brought the main blaze under control.
The fire resulted in a total loss of the barn and the vehicle. However, crews were able to successfully prevent the flames from spreading to the nearby home and other structures. Officials said the brush fire burned approximately one acre.
White County EMS evaluated one individual at the scene, but no injuries were reported.
Fire personnel remained on site throughout the afternoon extinguishing hot spots and ensuring the fire was fully contained before clearing the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
