White County Launches FLOST Educational Website for Citizens and Voters

White County is announcing the launch of whitecountyflost.com, an informational website designed to educate citizens and voters about the proposed Floating Local Option Sales Tax (FLOST) appearing on the November 2025 ballot.

FLOST is a one percent (1%) countywide sales tax designed to generate revenue and reduce property taxes in unincorporated White County and the cities of Cleveland and Helen. Unlike property taxes, FLOST is a consumption-based tax, meaning both residents and visitors contribute to lowering the overall property tax burden in White County.

The new website is a centralized location for residents to learn more about FLOST, its purpose, and its potential impact on White County property owners. Visitors will find straightforward explanations of how FLOST works and answers to frequently asked questions.

Transparency and educating the public on the upcoming vote are top priorities for the White County Board of Commissioners. The website is intended to provide residents with clear, accessible information to help them make informed decisions about the county's future.
