Firefighters Put Quick Stop to Tom Bell Road Residential Fire

A coordinated response by White County Fire Services and mutual aid partners contained a residential fire to one bedroom late Wednesday night, preventing the fire from spreading further throughout the home.
At 11:14PM on October 28, White County 911 Communications dispatched White County Fire Services to the reported fire on Tom Bell Road. The City of Cleveland Fire Department and City of Helen Fire Department also responded serving through mutual aid, providing additional personnel to support firefighting operations. The White County Sheriff’s Office and White County EMS also responded.
Fire personnel assessed the single-story home, located the fire inside, and began an interior fire attack. All occupants were reported out of the home before firefighters arrived.
White County Fire Services personnel, supported by firefighters from Cleveland and Helen, worked together to bring the fire under control quickly. Their efforts contained the fire to one bedroom, although the home sustained significant smoke damage.
White County EMS evaluated two individuals at the scene and transported one to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Fire personnel remained on scene following the initial knockdown to complete operations. All fire units were back in service at approximately 1:00AM Thursday.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and remains under investigation by the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office.
