The Cornelia Soup Kitchen is once again serving love on a plate, but they need a little extra help this week. LeeAnn and Bill Waller are preparing for the Saturday meal on August 30th at 11:30 a.m., and supplies are running low.
The kitchen calls on the community to donate by Thursday evening to ensure every guest leaves with a warm meal and a whole heart.
Items most needed include:
Chicken leg quarters or thighs
Pork (for BBQ sandwiches)
Dry beans or rice
Mac & cheese ingredients (elbow pasta, cheese, milk)
Fresh or frozen green beans & potatoes
Coleslaw mix & dressing
Cornbread mix or rolls
Desserts (sheet cakes, banana pudding supplies, cookies)
Drinks (tea, lemonade, bottled water)
For those unable to shop, monetary donations are welcome and will allow the team to purchase exactly what’s needed. Donations may be delivered to Cornelia Soup Kitchen, 236 Level Grove Road, Cornelia, GA, or you can contact LeeAnn Waller directly at 404-661-2594 or 706-963-8026.
LeeAnn shared from the heart: “Let’s come together and make sure no one leaves hungry. Because of YOU, we can serve with love and feed our community.”
