Big Red Apple Festival Returns to Downtown Cornelia Saturday

One of Cornelia’s favorite fall traditions returns this weekend as the Big Red Apple Festival takes over downtown Saturday, Sept. 26.

The 38th Annual Big Red Apple Festival will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., bringing a full day of food, arts and crafts, vendors and entertainment to downtown Cornelia.

The annual festival has become a fall tradition for families across Habersham County and Northeast Georgia, offering visitors a chance to spend the day downtown while supporting local vendors and enjoying the beginning of the fall season.

Festival listings show a variety of arts and crafts, handmade and homegrown products, food vendors and live entertainment planned throughout the day.

For those who want to get an early start, the Big Red Apple 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will also be held Saturday morning.

Presented by First Baptist Church of Cornelia, the 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 9 a.m. The 5K begins and ends at Cornelia's Big Red Apple monument and takes runners under the Tim Loves Tink bridge and through Cornelia City Park. Proceeds from the race benefit the church's children and youth ministries.

Race participants—and everyone else—can then make their way downtown as the Big Red Apple Festival gets underway at 10 a.m.

Whether you're coming for the food, shopping, music, race or simply an afternoon with family and friends, Saturday offers another opportunity to celebrate a tradition that has become part of fall in Cornelia.
