Habersham - An 8-year-old girl was transported to the hospital following a head-on collision over the weekend.
On Sunday, April 19, at 11:43 a.m., emergency personnel received a call about a two-car crash that occurred on GA 17 at GA 17 Connector in Habersham.
A 2003 Toyota Camry, driven by Douglas Warren Wade, 26, of Tallulah Falls, was traveling north on GA 17 Connector. A 2015 Jeep Patriot, driven by Bonnie Kay Branch, 67, of Clarkesville, was traveling south on GA 17.
Wade failed to yield while turning left onto GA 17 North, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP), when he struck the Jeep Patriot head-on.
“After impact, the Jeep Patriot traveled off the east shoulder and overturned. The Toyota Camry came to a final rest on GA 17,” said Sgt. C.J. Coffee of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.
Wade was transported by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
Passenger’s of Branch was Charice E Lester, 49, of Clarkesville and Skyla Warren, 8.
Both passengers were transported by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. Branch was transported by AirLife to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
Wade was charged with failure to yield at a stop sign.
