Remembering Tim Lee

Habersham Co. - Habersham County Commissioner Stacy Hall and County Manager Phil Sutton remember former Cobb County Commission Chairman Tim Lee who passed away yesterday, Sunday, Sept. 29 after losing his battle with cancer.

TheOffice of County Commissioners said in an email statement, "With heartfelt sadness, we have learned of the passing of Tim Lee on Sunday, September 29, 2019. The Habersham County Commission has worked closely with Mr. Lee over the last several years. He made a significant impact on our County through personal and professional relationships. Tim Lee quickly became an important part of our community and helped establish a new foundation for economic development in Habersham County."

“I know that we will all deeply and personally miss Tim Lee, it was a privilege to have known him so well. I personally will never forget his thoughtfulness and kindness.” said Stacy Hall, Commission Chairman.

“Tim Lee was a true community leader and served as an example to all of us. His work with the Habersham Partnership for Growth will long be remembered,” said Phil Sutton, County Manager.

"With great personal sorrow, the County Commission extends our heartfelt sympathy to the Lee family. In the short time Tim Lee was with us, he did much to move our community forward.

The Habersham County Development Authority said in an email statement, "It is with great sorrow that we have learned of the passing of Tim Lee. Mr. Lee was an ex-officio member of the Habersham County Development Authority and brought years of economic development experience and expertise to our board. Not only his professionalism, but his friendship will be greatly missed."

“It was a pleasure to know and work with Tim Lee. Although only in Habersham County for a short time, his impact will resonate for many years,” said Dr. Gail Thaxton, Chairman of the Habersham
Development Authority.

"With deep regret, the Habersham County Development Authority extends their sympathy to the family of Tim Lee," the Habersham County Development Authority said in an email statement.

Lee was the former economic development director in Habersham County.
