ATLANTA (PRESS RELEASE) – Fire Investigators with the Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office are currently searching for information regarding an August 7 house fire in Clayton.
The fire occurred around 11:15 P.M. last Wednesday night.
“The home, located at 823 Old Hwy 441 South in Clayton, Georgia, suffered major damage from the blaze,” said Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King. “The one-story (with basement), wood-frame residence was 34 years old and about 1,000 square feet at the time of the fire. No one was living in the residence at the time.”
The fire is undetermined, but still under investigation at this time. The fire has not been ruled arson, but anyone with knowledge about this fire should call the Arson Hotline at 1‐800‐282‐5804.
Rewards are offered up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist(s). Calls are taken 24 hours a day and callers can choose to remain anonymous.
Investigators with the Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office are assisting the City of Clayton Police Department and the Rabun County Fire Department with this investigation.
