Memorial Service To Be Held This Saturday For Alecia Grace Stover

Habersham Co. - Memorial services for Alecia Grace Stover, age 43, of Alto, who passed away Saturday, March 7, is set to be held this weekend.

Stover was found outside the residence of 691 Yonah Post Road and did not die as a result of the fire.

The “results from an autopsy performed at the GBI headquarters in Decatur have concluded that Ms. Stover died as a result of blunt force injuries to the head,” Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire says. 

Her death has been ruled a homicide.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time,” McEntire says.

Stover was born in Habersham County and was an Assistant Manager at Walmart. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Ray Wheeler.

Survivors include mother and step-father, Barbara and Ernest Adams, Cleveland; sister, Angie McDougald, Canton; brothers, Darrell A. Wheeler, Clarkesville and Cory Wheeler, Cleveland; nieces and nephews, Carly and Stephen Freeman, Canton, Dwight Canup, Canton, and Dylan Wheeler, Toccoa; and great-nieces, Abby Freeman and Alice Freeman.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Saturday, March 14, 2020 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Taylor will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon – 2 P.M. Saturday prior to the service.
