Habersham Co. - Habersham EMC and Trailwave Fiber customers have one less thing to worry about during the COVID-19 pandemic.
HEMC along with Trailwave Fiber announced that they will be temporarily suspending late fees and disconnections for nonpayment “as a way to ease some of the stress members are facing during this uncertain time.”
This applies to all residential and business accounts within our service area until further notice.
In the announcement, HEMC said “We understand many of our members have had to change their daily routines due to COVID-19 and may face financial hardships as a result.”

We understand how critical broadband service is to preventing the spread of the virus while subscribers learn and work at home,” explains Whit Hollowell, Habersham EMC Acting CEO and Chief Operating Officer, Trailwave Fiber, Inc. “Electricity has an essential role in preventing the spread of the virus and we want to do our part to help our members during this challenging time.”
HEMC offices in Clarkesville and Cleveland remain open under normal operating hours. “We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as necessary based on CDC guidelines.
Members can also take care of many business-related topics by phone, online or through the SmartHub app,” adds Hollowell.
Trailwave Fiber, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Habersham EMC, serves approximately 5,000 residential and commercial subscribers in Northeast Georgia.
