Habersham Medical Center Announces New Incoming CEO

Habersham Co. - The Hospital Authority of Habersham County is pleased to announce that Stephen Tyler Williams, MHA, has been selected as the incoming CEO, effective July 6th, 2020. 

Williams replaces Lynn Boggs, MBA, MSN, who has been serving as an interim executive CEO since October, 2017. Boggs and Williams will be transitioning responsibilities from now through July 6th.

“It has been a tremendous honor working at Habersham Medical Center for the past 5 years, most recently in Administration as the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development," Williams tells WCHM. "While in Administration, I have had the pleasure of working alongside an amazing team as well as learning from a very experienced hospital CEO, Lynn Boggs.   I look forward to serving the Hospital Authority of Habersham County by leading Habersham Medical Center in the same positive direction that we have been progressing so that we can continue to deliver upon our mission.”


Williams has worked in various roles within Habersham Medical Center Administration since 2014, including his most recent role as Vice President for Business Development and Strategy for the past two years. He has significant experience in Georgia’s rural health network including major grant initiatives and was involved in the negation, development, and execution of the current contracts with Northeast Georgia Healthcare System.

Williams has extensive experience in physician practice management as well as hospital operations and finance.

Williams obtained a BA in Business from Georgia Southwestern State University and an MHA from Georgia Southern University. He is a member of the College of Healthcare Executives and is a graduate of Leadership Georgia Hospital Association. According to the release sent out by the hospital, Williams will be relocating from Hiawassee, GA to Habersham County.

"We are thankful for Mr. William’s many contributions and reliable, steadfast work integrity for the past five years, and look forward to working with him in his management of Habersham Medical Center in the years to come."
