Habersham Co. - David Sosby, Chairman of the Habersham County Republican Party (HCRP) announced that the HCRP qualified 3 more candidates for local offices in
Habersham County yesterday, bringing the 2-day total to 17 candidates.
Candidates who qualified on Day 2 where:
Sheriff – Sam Jones
County Commissioner District 5 – Tim Stamey (Incumbent)
Board of Education District 2 – Robert Barron (Incumbent)
1st Day Qualifiers where:
Sheriff – Joey Terrell (Incumbent)
Solicitor General – Bill Oliver (Incumbent)
Probate Judge – Pam Wooley (Incumbent) and John W. Whitfield
Chief Magistrate – Gerald Johnson (Incumbent)
Clerk of Superior Court – David Wall (Incumbent)
Coroner – Kasey McEntire (Incumbent)
County Commissioner District 1 – Benny Pate and Jeffrey Todd Lunsford
County Commissioner District 4 – Natalie Crawford (Incumbent), Bruce Harkness and Trent Davis
County Commissioner District 5 – Randy D. Miller
Board of Education District 1 – Doug Westmoreland (Incumbent)
“The HCRP is extremely pleased that 3 more candidates qualified on Day 2 of Qualifying, bringing the total qualified to date to 17. This large number shows the strength of the Republican Party in Habersham County, which is one of the most conservative counties in Georgia. We are excepting more candidates to qualify before the Friday at 12:00 p.m. which is the end of qualifying,” Sosby indicated.
Qualifying for Republicans continues until March 6 at 12:00 P.M. at South State Bank, 2nd Floor, 949 Washington Street, Clarkesville, Georgia, 30523.
