Gun Licensing Temporarily Suspended

Habersham Co. - Probate Courts across Georgia will temporarily suspend acceptance of applications for Weapons Carry Licenses and Renewal Weapons Carry Licenses in response of the Judicial Emergency.

“This does not affect your right to carry pursuant to the Constitution if you do not have a Georgia Weapons Carry License,” says Habersham County Probate Court Judge, Pamela Wooley.

Wooley notes that your license will not expire if you are due to renew during the Emergency period. “Chief Justice Melton’s Order essentially pushes “PAUSE” on all deadlines created by law or rule. Therefore, you will still be able to renew after the Emergency ends  and your current license will remain valid until that time.”

The emergency order is set to be lifted on April 13 as of right not.

Habersham County Probate Office is currently operating under normal hours of 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
