No charges are expected to be filed in a tragic car accident last night involving a father and his three year old son. A press release from the Georgia State Patrol indicates the child unexpectedly ran onto the driveway near Robertson loop road as the father was backing up. The father was not able to stop and the rear of the vehicle struck the child. The child was transported to Habersham Medical Center, then to Children's Hospital of Atlanta by air lift due to injuries sustained. The initial prognosis was that the injuries were serious but not life threatening.
Habersham airport boosters are high on the future of the airport, particularly after the commsision earlier this month approved the construction of 10 hangars.
Everyone wants in, whether its the hobbyist pilot or a corporation and airport chairman Franklin Brown says the new metal hangars could be constructed within six months. That means more business for everyone.
County manager Phil Sutton also points to a favorable cost structure as Uncle Sam and the state have paid for most of the capital improvements over the years.
And former congressman Doug Collins has been bitten by the radio bug. In addition to his weekly contributions to WCHM, Collins announced that he will soon host a live hourlong show afternoons at 3. He’s building a network of stations for “The Doug Collins Show” - one of which will be an AM station in Atlanta. Apparently, he’ll broadcast from his new law firm digs in Clarkesville. Stay tuned!
