Banks Co., (PRESS RELEASE) - On Thursday, August 1, 2019, the Banks County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Drug Enforcement Office executed a search warrant at 271 Sims Harris Road in Gillsville, Georgia.
The search resulted in the recovered of approximately 68.1 grams of Methamphetamine and several firearms were recovered at the residence. The Methamphetamine has a street value of approximately $7,480.00. The search was the result of an extended investigation and a collaborative effort by law enforcement agencies.
Two individuals were arrested as a result of the investigation:
Steven Whitehead, 36 years old, from Gillsville, Georgia
Madison Porter, 23 years old, from Gillsville, Georgia
Both Whitehead and Porter were charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Firearm during the commission of a felony. The two were arrested, transported to the Banks County Jail.
