Habersham Co. - There is still time to send in your ballot for the upcoming Chamber board election.
The last day to send your ballot in is Tuesday, Oct. 15.
The following members have been nominated for Directors of the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce for the 2020-2021 term.
Chris Alewine from Bank OZK. Chris is the Vice President/Branch Manager with Bank OZK in Cornelia. He has a history of working in the banking industry and is skilled in sales, team building, account management, and leadership. He has worked in the Habersham community for 3 years and enjoys being involved with community development with the vision and efforts to help Habersham County grow.
Mickey Carroll from Connextion Church/Wild Berry Grill. Mickey currently serves as the Lead Pastor at Connextion Church in Cornelia and co-owner of Wild Berry Grill and Gifts in Clarkesville.
Trudy Crunkleton from City of Clarkesville, Main Street. Trudy is a native of Rabun County. She worked for Sky Valley Resort & Country Club for many years before moving to Carroll County. She served on the Convention and Visitors Bureau in Rabun and Carroll County. Trudy moved back to the area in January to accept the Main Street position with the City of Clarkesville.
Clayton Franklin from Fieldale Farms. Clayton is a lifelong resident of Habersham County, graduating from Habersham Central High School in 2006. Since 2013, Clayton has served as Corporate Attorney for Fieldale Farms Corporation in addition to working at Smith, Gilliam, Williams & Miles. His areas of practice primarily involve litigation, compliance, and commercial transactions. Clayton served as Chairman of the Lake Burton Fun Run from 2017 to 2019 and is currently on the Young Harris College Alumni Association Board of Directors. He graduated from Leadership Habersham in 2014. Clayton is a past president of the Young Harris College Young Alumni Council and served on the Habersham County United Way Board of Directors.
Jessie Owensby from the City of Cornelia. Jessie Owensby is the Community Development Manager for the City of Cornelia. She oversees Economic Development and the Main Street program, tourism, public relations, the Historic Train Museum, and the Cornelia Downtown Development Authority.
Judy Parsons from Premier by Judy Jewelry. Judy moved to Clarkesville in November 2018, joined the Chamber in early 2019 and became an Ambassador in May, just five months after joining. Presently, Judy works part-time at First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland and is a member of Christ Church in Clarkesville. She volunteers with Habersham Promise, Circle of Hope, and Habersham Animal Control. She is also in the development stages of a new bookkeeping business.
Guy Ramos from Headwaters Realty. A resident of Northeast Georgia for 20 years, Guy has worked in the banking industry with a financial lending non-profit organization and real estate. He is currently employed with Headwaters Realty.
Perry Rettig from Piedmont College. Perry is a current Chamber of Commerce Board member and serves as Vice President at Piedmont College. He is a former school principal and teacher, and he has resided in Habersham County for the past seven years. He plans to continue the already strong efforts in Habersham County to build ties with education at all levels to families and businesses through workforce development and visible connections through internships, mentoring, and service-learning.
