Car Catches Fire Outside Toccoa Diner

Stephens Co. - Earlier Wednesday morning, a local Stephens County deputy was traveling on Big A Road when he encountered a car that seemed to be smoking.

Two sheriff’s deputies were the first ones on the scene after a Toyota Rav4 caught fire in Stephens County.

The driver of the vehicle was able to pull into a parking lot at the B&H Diner before the car was engulfed in flames.

The driver and passenger were able to escape the smoking vehicle without injury.

Toccoa Fire Department was called to the scene and was able to eventually extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is still unknown as of Wednesday afternoon and no names of the driver or passenger have been released.
