Aquatic Center To Close for Maintenance

Residents of Habersham have less than a week to get their swimming fix before the Ruby C. Fulbright Aquatic Center closes the Natatorium doors for almost a month.

The Center will close from August 24th to September 20th for the demolition and installation of a new HVAC replacement unit.  Only the pool area will be closed for construction. All other facilities will remain open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.

The new ventilation and dehumidification system being replaced is a project that was approved by the Habersham County Commission back on March 16th.

"The construction of this custom unit being installed at Ruby C. Fulbright takes a considerable amount of time to build and, unfortunately, was unable to be completed during our Covid-19 closures," said County Director of Parks and Recreation Kurt Cooper.

Once installed, the climate control system will properly control space temperature, moisture and humidity levels for the center's two indoor heated pools as well as the lap pool and recreation pool.
