Dawson Co., - Woman shot by husband in the parking lot of fire station feared for her life, friends say.
Jeremy Gibson has been convicted of murder after shooting his wife, Amy Gibson, in front of their two children Monday night.
Friends of the family state that the couple had a history with domestic issues and that Amy attempted to get help and even tried to get a restraining order from her husband.
“No one intervened,” Amy’s friend, Kristi Peterson, told media outlets. “It was behavior that was alarming and scary, and no one stopped it.”
Peterson went on to state that Amy was in fear for her life and even stated that she “didn’t know how this would end without someone dead.”
Jeremy Gibson was a former Army Ranger and told the judge during his court appearance Wednesday, he had trouble processing information because of a traumatic brain injury and could not read or write.
Channel 2, WSB-TV, reported that Amy Gibson’s sister is working to get custody of the children, ages 5 and 8.
Jeremy Gibson’s next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 14.
